Gala Orba, District B, Has Withdrawn From BVSD Race

Gala Orba

Gala Orba, a candidate for the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education in District B, has withdrawn from the race. Her name will still appear on the ballot, since they’ve been printed already.

Orba offered the following statement on October 9, 2021:

On the campaign trail recently I dipped my foot back into the substitute teaching pool. After feeling the pulse of our kids, schools, systems, and faculty I gained new knowledge that I need some time to integrate. I have decided to withdraw from the race. I need to do more research in this field. Things in our schools have changed since COVID. And things have evolved in this field since I taught and subbed for BVSD back in 2012-14.

I have ideas and proposals for our District that I would like to make but I need to think them through a bit further. It’s too soon for some of them. I’m not quite ready to share my findings.

I am taking another path and I intend to run in the next School Board race.
